Summer 2009 Schedule

Our Summer 2009 Schedule consists of three 3-week sessions. You may register for one or all of the sessions, and you may try different classes from session to session. Cost is $30 per student per class, or if you pre-pay for all three sessions, the cost is $75 student/class. Half hour classes, like Tiny Tots, will be $15 student/class or, if pre-paid, $40 student/class.  To qualify for the pre-pay discount, tuition must be paid by June 1st. There is no registration fee, and we will not be offering a multi-children discount for these classes. Please refer  to our policies for appropriate classroom apparel. For these sessions, we will encourage, but not require appropriate dance/acro shoes.

To register for summer classes, go to our "Registration" tab, and complete the online enrollment form.  Please be specific which session(s) and class(es) you are registering for.  Or, you may call the studio for hours to register in person.

Class Descriptions:

Tiny Tots – Introduction to tumbling for children ages 18 months to 3 years. Children develop large motor skills, coordination, listening, and following directions. This is a parent-assisted class, and is 1/2 hour long.

Pre-Acro – Basic tumbling for children ages 3-5 years.

Acro 1-5 – Each level has specific skills and progressions that must be met in order to move on to the next level. For personal safety, we strictly require mastering each skill at each level. Age is not necessarily a factor in class placement. Acrobatics or Tumbling classes teach the same skills and techniques as those for “floor” gymnastics. Beginners work on forward rolls (somersaults), left and right handed cartwheels & backbends, and learning correct technique so they can move to more advanced acrobatics. Advanced tumblers work on flexibility, front and back walkovers, strengthening and eventually front and back handsprings and aerial movement.

Pre-Dance – Introductory class for ages 3 & 4. A blend of classical ballet and creative movement.

Ballet–For ages 5 & up; the basis for all types of dance, we work on developing vocabulary, skills, combinations and progressions for each level.

Tap – A fun (and noisy) style of dance where dancers use their feet as percussion with the music;
for ages 5 & up.

Jazz – For ages 5 & up; the difference between Ballet and Jazz is that Jazz moves faster than Ballet and showcases quicker dance movements. Beginning students learn basic fun dance movements like the Grapevine, Chasses, and the Jazz Square. Advanced Jazz students eventually progress to leaps, turns and dance progressions.

Hip Hop 1 – A freestyle form of dance that was born on the street and is now popular in schools and studios. Includes elements of popping & locking, break dancing, and freestyle movement. (ages 5-11)

Hip Hop 2 – A freestyle form of dance that was born on the street and is now popular in schools and studios. Includes elements of popping & locking, break dancing, and freestyle movement. For students ages 12 and up.

Competitive Cheer (
New enrollments for this class will not be accepted until September 2009) Ages 8 & up; this class requires a commitment of one year, as routines are mastered in the fall and winter, and competitions are held in the spring and summer. Cheer team participates in at least 2 competitions, as well as any other functions the coach schedules throughout the year. Parents may be involved in booster activities to lessen the cost of the uniforms, entry fees, and other costs associated with competitons. Students in this class also participate in the studio recital, and will learn a separate recital dance. Class may divide younger from older students if a significant number of students are enrolled.

Open Cheer – Basic cheerleading instruction for ages 8 and up. Skills include cheers, chants, lifts, tumbling skills, spirit skills and team building. Class may divide younger from older students if a significant number of students are enrolled.

Summer Day Camps:
